Tracy Kitching (she/her)I am a warm, approachable and experienced Clinical Psychologist with over 20 years experience working in NHS healthcare services who can offer a space to engage in psychological therapy for a wide variety of issues. I am trained in a number of different therapeutic approaches including EMDR, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Compassion Focussed therapy. I accept therapy clients who are self-funding or those with health insurance with a number of different providers.
My approach
My therapy approach is at its heart, warm and relational, and I will work closely with you to understand the particular issues or challenges that you would like to work on in therapy and from there agree how we will approach these together. I have supported adults with a wide range of physical and mental health challenges through my work in both NHS healthcare services and in private practice. As a result I have developed a wide variety of therapeutic skills to support clients experiencing anxiety, depression, adjustment to changed life circumstances, the effects of traumatic experiences and more.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have an undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Nottingham and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology gained from the University of East Anglia in 2011. I am a registered Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council. I have worked in NHS healthcare services since 2004, and continue to hold an NHS appointment alongside my work in private practice. My NHS experience includes working with adults and older adults experiencing mental health difficulties, with those experiencing challenges with their memory, having experienced a brain injury or stroke, with those adjusting to and managing long term health conditions and with those who have experienced stress or traumatic events through their work.
I am a Chartered member of the British Psychological Society and a member of the EMDR Association UK.
I have completed additional training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Compassion Focussed Therapy and have completed standard accredited training in EMDR.
Fees & Location
I am able to offer in person appointments at central St Albans consulting rooms or online via video platform.
Fees are £120 per 50 minute session.
