How I work

I work with individual and couples in a safe and non-judgemental space. We will explore your feelings, thoughts and behaviours around unresolved issues from the present and past. This will support you to identify what is important for you, to make changes and to move on.

Sessions last for fifty minutes. They take place on a weekly basis on the same day and time each week. If you work irregular hours, as much as possible, I will try to accommodate moving sessions. But for consistency and to establish a routine it is best to have sessions at the same time each week. I see clients during the day and in the evening Monday to Thursday.

As for how long the therapy lasts, it varies client to client and what you want to gain from your session. Short term therapy can be helpful for dealing with a crisis that feels immediate, whilst longer term therapy can offer a more solid platform for change.

Current research has identified that the relationship built between therapist and client is more important than the type of therapy offered. So it is important to find a therapist you feel safe and comfortable working with. I have experience of working with clients that have:

  • Felt confused about their life’s direction
  • struggle making or maintaining relationships
  • feel their relationship has reached a ‘stuck’ point
  • had negative thoughts and feelings about themselves and experience low self esteem
  • repeated the same unhelpful patterns and don’t know why
  • felt depressed, anxious and have suicidal feelings
  • have suffered a loss or bereavement
  • felt stressed, guilt, shame or lack motivation
  • experienced abuse (physical, sexual, emotional or financial) or trauma during their life
  • Have been affected by work-related problems
  • felt their life is in crisis or transition
